About the National Wetlands Newsletter

The Newsletter is a bi-monthly journal on wetlands policy and practice published by the Environmental Law Institute (ELI) in Washington, D.C., since 1978.

ELI established NWN as a "clearinghouse for information regarding inland and coastal wetland and floodplains for scientists, planners, managers, attorneys, government agencies, conservation organizations, and other interested groups and individuals."

This interdisciplinary focus has always set the National Wetlands Newsletter apart from other publications that focus on or include information about wetlands. No where else can an attorney, botanist, manager, mitigation banker, turn to for an interdisciplinary discussion on wetlands policy.

Leaders in the wetlands profession regularly contribute their insight to the Newsletter-from experts at federal and state agencies, to U.S. Senators and members of the National Research Council, and entrepreneurs in the mitigation banking industry to the legal experts at the National Wildlife Federation.
